Book Two: Unbound

The second volume of the Havoc Chronicles, Unbound, is now available! Click here.

Here is the description from Amazon:

Unbound picks up immediately where Threads That Bind left off. Having failed to bind Osadyn, the Berserkers must deal with the aftermath of Kara’s decision. Madison and Rhys are left behind to continue her training while the other Berserkers attempt to hunt down the remaining unbound Havoc.

Madison soon discovers her powers are even stranger than she had previously thought and that someone close to the Berserkers wants her dead. Seeking some sense of normalcy, Madison tries to blend back in at school with less-than-successful results and her attempts at a romantic relationship lead to consequences far worse than anyone could have imagined.

The Berserkers’ world will be changed forever.

Cannot wait for Unbound. More please!

    • Brant says:

Glad to hear you liked TTB! You will be happy to know that I just finished writing the final chapter of Unbound today. I have sent it off for copy editing and everything seems to be on track for an end-of-July release date. Thanks for reading!

  2. Kyle says:

Do you have a firm date for the July release?

    • Brant says:

Hey Kyle! I do not have a “firm” release date…yet. Right now it depends upon when I can get my cover finalized. I have seen a rough version that I really like, but there are some effects my cover designer is going to include. Once I get the next iteration, I should know more. At this point, I am pushing to upload the book on July 30th which means it will be ready to purchase by July 31st. As soon as I know for sure, I will send out an email to the people who signed up for the mailing list for notification, as well as post something here on the website. Thanks for reading!

  3. Shay says:

I can’t wait till the rest of the series comes out. I love them!

    • Brant says:

Thanks, Shay! I appreciate it! I’ve had these characters in my head for so long, and I’m excited to finally share their stories with you guys. 🙂 You have no idea how much I love to hear that someone loves the book and is looking forward to the next one.

If you have time, I would love it if you (or anyone else who has read the book and would like to share their thoughts) would go to and write a review of TTB to help others who may be thinking about buying it. Posting reviews on Amazon and spreading the word about the books are hugely important for relatively new authors – like myself – to get the word out.

But mostly I’m just happy that you read and liked the books enough to take the time to come here and tell me. Love it! Thanks!

  4. I really liked Threads That Bind!! you are a good writer and I will continue to read your books…Looking forward to Unbound….and what the future holds…Thank You 🙂

  5. Abby says:

I just finished Threads That Bind and I LOVE it! It is one of the best books I have read in a while…and I read a lot! I rushed to Amazon to see if the next book was out so I could snatch it up….excited to see what happens next! I am pretty disappointed that it isn’t out yet, but glad that I don’t have too long to wait! I really hope that you keep writing….I know I will buy whatever books you publish (no joke!) because I REALLY love your writing style!

    • Brant says:

Thanks, Abby! I love hearing that! 🙂 I really wish Unbound were out already, but I want to make sure all you readers get a book I can be proud of and that will entertain and delight you. It is coming. Soon. Very soon.

  6. Enjoyed Threads that Bind!! and cant wait for Unbound 😀

    • Brant says:

Glad you enjoyed it! I’m glad to have Unbound almost done and ready to be read. I personally think it will be worth the wait. (But I am a little biased…)

  7. Not your typical YA sci-fi romance adventure. There is still room for a lot of story to be told which delights me because you will not be able to neatly wrap up this story line in even a second or third book. The read was delightful and while it is good enough for mature adults to enjoy it still plays well to every generation. I was summoned back to my awkward teenage years, unpopular and goofy looking but extremely bright and funny. You have a remarkable heroine in Madison who grew up so quickly in TTB, but just as quickly returns to a young girl when not zerking. Loved it and will gobble up more as quickly as you can write them.

    • Brant says:

Teresa, I’m delighted to hear that you like Madison as much as I do! While I was never a teenage girl, I think there are some things about being a teen that are universal for boys and girls, and I tried to convey those. I remember feeling self-conscious and wanting to fit in, yet also wanting to be unique at the same time. Also, making this book enjoyable for a wide audience was something I really wanted to do. I think the best books can be read on multiple levels by multiple age groups. I wanted to write something that I thought my kids would enjoy and that I would enjoy reading to them. I’m glad to hear that is working for you! Thanks for reading!

  8. Christina says:

Loved TTB, I can’t wait to get my hands on the next book!

  9. Adwoa says:

Three nights ago, I was bored and decided to check out books on amazon. As usual I checked out the ‘top free’ books first and saw TTB. The cover caught my eye and after reading the plot I figured ‘hey I need something to read, this sounds interesting’ – BEST BOOK DECISION I’VE MADE THIS ENTIRE YEAR!!! And I am sooo excited I read it just when the sequel is about to be released…I have a busy work schedule so I read your book in two nights and I loved every minute of it. I’m spreading the word, this book is a MUST READ! Thanks for heeding to the push your friends and family gave you and sharing your amazing talent with us and may God continue to bless your talent.

    • Brant says:

Adwoa, I love the enthusiasm! I’m so glad you stumbled across my book. 🙂 I really appreciate it when people like my book and spread the word. Word of mouth is the best form of marketing for a book. Thank-you for letting me know how much you liked it. Hearing people’s reactions is the best part about publishing a book. Thanks! I’m excited for you to read Unbound!

  10. Luann says:

Love TTB, can not wait for Unbound!!! Thank you.

  11. Wendy says:

Exceptional story!! Just finished TTB and now waiting for Unbound. I love the characters and could visualize every thing as it happened. Keep them coming, Mr. Williams!

    • Brant says:

Wendy, I’m glad you love the characters. I really like them too! Just be aware that really bad things happen to several of them in Unbound.

  12. Bill says:

Here I sit in Afghanistan with not a lot to do but work, work out and read. I found your book on my weekly cruise thru Kindle. Wasn’t sure if I would like it, however I thought why not I will give it a go. I was pleasantly surprised that it held my attention. I really enjoyed your book and look forward to reading the next installment of the series. Take care and hope you’re enjoying your summer.

    • Brant says:

Bill – I’m glad you found it and liked it. Based on your description I am guessing you are serving in the military. If so, thank-you for your service! I have nothing but the highest respect for our soldiers. If you are not, then I apologize for the incorrect assumption and am still glad you found and liked the book! 🙂

  13. Amanda Fontenot says:

Absolutely loved TTB and I can tell I will feel the same for Unbound. The first chapter was great. I can tell it will be worth the wait! I am a very picky reader but TTB kept me up all night I just couldn’t put it down unfinished, definitely worth the lack of sleep!

  14. Wendy says:

Bought Unbound and just started it. 🙂 I recommended your books to an author friend Dannika Dark and some others. Hope you get some new fans!!

    • Brant says:

Thanks, Wendy! I appreciate you spreading the word! I hope you enjoy Unbound!

      • Wendy says:

I just finished Unbound. I tried to read slowly it didn’t work that well. LOL All I can say is WOW!!! Amazing job!! I laughed, cried and now I cant wait for the next book. 🙂 Thank you for another fantastic adventure!!!

        • Brant says:

Well, if you couldn’t stop reading, then that means I did my job. Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for posting the reviews on Amazon! I’m also glad you felt the emotions I felt while writing it. Now that Unbound is done, I have turned my attention to Bonds That Break (working title for Book 3) and will get moving on that. Thanks for reading and spreading the word!

  15. Bernadette says:

BRANT! Feel as were on a first name basis! Got my kindle July 20th…… for my bday! Read some other book first….. cant remember what it was after reading THREADS THAT BIND -because it deserves full spelling- finished it and was EXSTATIC and beyond relieved that I didn’t have to wait for unbound to be released…. I was desperately hoping ur book was a -more than one- series and my full book loving geeky joy poured out when I saw unbound out. Just started ur books about a week and a half ago…. unbound maybe 4 days ago! Finished from 47% to completion just tonight!!!! Great book! Great chronicles! Great characters! I LOVE thelove in this book which I wont spoil! Only downside is u haven’t finished book three for me to start tonight! Keep on with the keeping on I’m totally a BRANT WILLIAMS fan!

    • Brant says:

Bernadette – I’m so happy you liked them both! You certainly came into the series at the right time so you didn’t have to wait for Unbound. Now you just have to wait for Bonds That Break. 🙂 I’ve got some fun things for this book that I think you are going to like. I love seeing other people connect with these characters that I have come to know and love over the years I’ve known them. Thanks for spreading the word! Recommending my book to your friends is the best compliment you can give. Thanks!

  16. Sandie says:

    Hi Brant,
Let me just say amazing. I am an avid reader and I go through about a book in a day and I have been looking constantly for your books to come out. I love the story and how everything ties together. I also want to say that you captured Madison wonderfully and I love that the characters are called Berserkers. All in all this is one of my favorite series. I will read this over and over again and am looking forward to the bonds that break, when will the possible release date be for that book? Love the series its so great!!!

    • Brant says:

Sandie – I’m so glad to hear you liked it! I really have enjoyed writing the books and sharing these characters with all of you. I love hearing that you will re-read the books. That is exactly what I was hoping for when I wrote them. I am hard at work on Bonds That Break. I have been working on the outline and am getting close to completing it. (The outline, not the book. :)) Since I have a full-time job I have to find the time to write. If you can convince a few hundred thousand people to buy my books, I will happily write full-time and speed up the process. 🙂

  17. Sandie says:

I will definitely do my best to try 🙂

  18. Andi says:

I just finished Unbound… in one sitting! When’s the next book coming out?? 🙂

    • Brant says:

One sitting? Well, that is impressive. I’m assuming that means you liked it? 🙂 I hope to have book 3 (Bonds That Break) out sometime in 2013. I’ve had a lot happening in my life over the past few months (all good) so I wasn’t able to write as much as I had hoped. I plan to buckle down and get some good writing in soon. It will be worth the wait. 🙂

  19. Danielle! says:

I live for this series Brant! I read it day and night twice each! I rocomend it to every one I know! I’m so super impatient for the 3rd one to come out!!!!! This would be an amazing movie or even a t.v. show! It would blow the twilight series out of the water! Your amazing. Don’t ever give up !

    • Brant says:

Thanks, Danielle! I love hearing that people like the books and recommend them to their friends. That is the best compliment you can give a writer. 🙂 I think it would make a pretty good movie too. Now I just have to convince someone in Hollywood about that. I will get book three out as soon as I can. It will be sometime in 2013. I think you will find it worth the wait. 😀

  20. Jessica says:

omg! its the first time i actually came home from school and actually looked forward to reading. I can imagine a movie in my head when reading! I was lucky to get TTB for free! but when i finished it i wanted more! i finished unbound yesterday and i want the third one sooooooo bad! ty for being a great writer!

    • Brant says:

Jessica – That’s great! I love hearing that people look forward to reading my books. I’m glad you were able to find TTB on the free lists and that you liked it enough to get Unbound. That’s my whole master plan for giving away TTB to get you hooked enough to buy the next. Thanks for reading! Please tell your friends and spread the word!

  21. Lauren says:

I have several things to say about your amazing series. First of all: I loved both books! I was surprised at how much… passion that the books contained. I read both books in three days flat and stayed up all night reading both. Can’t wait for the third book to come out! Second: I loved the way that your books are origanal. Their are so many romantic fantasy books out their but it seems like half if them are exactly the same, letting down the nerd in me who loves books. You created something new, something interesting, and added pieces of yourself. That is what makes a book worth reading. To see all of the heart, soul, and late nights thinking, that were put into something to make it real. Third: I love that your books come to life. Words leap off of paper, becoming a vibrant picture. The reader can feel the emotions flinging off of words as they are spoken. See Madison first come into full ‘zerk, flinging her boyfriend into a tree. Hear the mischivous tone that Eric used as a shield to hide the horrors that he had undertaken, the heavy burden of grief from so much death. I know that I did. Thank you for creating two masterpieces and taking the time to respond to reader comments. 🙂

    • Brant says:

I love hearing that people stayed up late reading my books! I have done that many a night myself with books I love, so hearing that you felt that way about my books is a great compliment. I am so glad that the books have come to life for you and that you can see the characters as I have seen them. These characters really took on depth and a bit of life that I wasn’t expecting as I wrote them. Writing the chapter where Eric tells his back story was as much as a surprise and revelation to me as it was to the readers. I knew a bit of it, but once I let him tell his tale, it became much more tragic than I had realized and his character took on a whole new level of depth for me. Now that I look back, I can hardly believe that I didn’t know all that about him from the beginning, but my unconscious must have somehow put that all together and then laid it out for me. Anyway, I am so glad to hear that you like the books. Thank-you for taking the time to let me know! Hearing readers experiences makes all the early morning writing sessions worth it!

  22. Sabrina says:

Like Lauren I stayed up reading your books because i didn’t want to put it down! Just so you know I only do that with good books 🙂 Do you have at least a guess or exact date of when the final book will come out?

    • Brant says:

Sabrina – I do love to hear that people are sleep deprived because of my books. 🙂 I’ve missed many an hour of sleep reading my favorite books as well. As for the date of the next book (notice I said next, and not final. The more I write, the more I think this may be too much for a single book. Still not 100% sure though.) I wish I had a concrete answer for you. I am shooting for late summer – August or maybe even September. It will depend on a lot of factors that I don’t have control over. So, there you have my best guess. I do have plans to post at least one excerpt from the next book before then to tide you over.

  23. I just read TTB as well as Unbound also all these comments which pretty much sums up how much i enjoyed it cant wait for the next one

    • Brant says:

Timothy – Glad you liked them! They were a lot of fun to write and it’s been great having a platform to share them. I’m still working on #3!
