Book Three: Bonds That Break

Bonds That Break is the third and final chapter in the Havoc Chronicles. It will be released on February 15th, 2014.

Madison’s dangerous journey comes to its final conclusion as she and the other Berserkers set out to bind the last of the free Havocs. The words in Mallika’s final letter take on a terrible meaning when she discovers that the Berserker magic has become corrupted, and the rules of her world are turned upside down.

The magical corruption creates a rift in the Binder Council – some see Madison as the fulfillment of an ancient prophecy, and others as a threat that must be eliminated. Friendship and loyalty will be tested, and Madison must fight to survive long enough to learn the true origins of the Berserkers and Havocs.

Nothing is achieved with out a price, and the choices Madison makes will forever change the fate of the world.

As a gift to all of you who have been patiently waiting for Bonds That Break, I am posting the first chapter for you to read. Please keep in mind that this is rough draft. I have tried to clean it up as much as possible, but there still may be problems with it. I reserve the right to make significant changes before the book goes live. Go up to the Navigation Bar and select “Preview Chapter 1” under Book 3: Bond That Break. It is password protected. The password is Bonds. Loved chapter 1, ready for the rest of book 3! I’m happy to volunteer to help edit before release (hint, hint)… signed up for the email to let me know when it’s ready… thank you for that option! ~Carrie

Carrie – Always glad to hear that chapter 1 is working for you! As for the edit, I think I have that under control for now, but if I have someone cancel I may take you up on the offer. 🙂 Thanks for signing up for the mailing list! It makes for a nice easy way to tell people when the book is ready. I am still shooting for a December release date. The book just keeps getting longer and longer. I planned on 90k and am already past 110k. By the time I’m done it will be not too much shorter than Threads and Unbound together. Hopefully it will be worth the wait!

I keep checking for the new book to be available on my kindle app… Do you have a forecast or estimated release date? I know before you had hoped it would be available by year’s end… I’m sure pestering you on the message boards doesn’t help speed things up, but I can’t help it lol….

Carrie – I do appreciate the question. You prompted me to do a quick post to update everyone on what is happening. I don’t have a release date yet, but I am hoping for late January or early Feb. No promises, though. 🙂

p.s. i can’t believe you answered me as ‘Geronimo’ xD Thats Awesome! You know that was completely fake as he’s a character for a children’s book 😀 Google it!

        • Brant says:

Geronimo – I will call you by any name you like. 🙂 I didn’t take offense. I understand that people want to find out what happens next. I take it as a compliment if someone likes the book that much. Glad I passed the test!

  6. Ami Davis says:

A couple of weeks ago, I purchased and downloaded book 3, and I am thrilled. Then, I realized, I don’t remember what the flip happened in the first two books! It is the first time I have re-read a book, let alone, two! Yay me! ;P I have to say, I enjoyed them as much the second time (if not more) than the first! Now that I am getting into book 3, I just have to know, why did you change Naiki’s name? In book two, it was Naki (which I liked better, by the way)! Or maybe I got some fudged up version of the book?

And, I know you probably hate hearing this, but I really think that this idea would really make a great TV series. I only say this because Madison, the Berserker/Binder is so unique. She’s not like the typical vampire/warewolf/zombie mainstream!
