Bonds That Break – 82,000 Words and Counting

It has been a while since I have posted and I figured I owed you all an update:

Well, I am now 82,000 words into Bonds That Break.  I had estimated that it would be 90,000 words when finished, but I am now thinking it will take me longer than that to give the kind of satisfying conclusion to the series that you all want and deserve. I am guessing it will probably closer to 100k words. Which means it is not big enough that I would cut it in half. The good news is that you will be getting a big and action-packed book. If you think Madison had it hard in Unbound, you haven’t seen anything yet. There are plenty of plot twists, betrayals, danger, romance, sadness, anger, and monster butt-kicking to satisfy you all.

But now I am at the hardest part.

The ending.

Don’t worry, I know how this book and the series ends. I’ve known that since the beginning. But I’ve known it in the general sense – big picture. Now I am to the point where I need to outline the remaining chapters and it is harder to do than I thought. I can’t leave things as a mystery any longer, and I have to find creative ways for Madison to discover things that have taken place in the past and/or when Madison was not around.

I want this ending to be satisfying for my readers and to tie up most (but not all) of the loose ends in a way that gives you all closure. So this next part will be my most difficult as I work though the final portion of my outline.

Wish me luck!

I’m spellbound by Madison. She’s a character that just has it all. I’m always the person that wants the all the abilities a book has to offer sans limitations. Madison is exactly that person. She gets all the power, yet at a price. Simply love it…

Peter – Glad to hear you like Madison. I love writing her! She is a ton of fun. And if you think she has strong abilities now, wait until the end of Bonds That Break. She get stronger. A LOT stronger. I can’t tell you any more, but trust me, power galore! And yes, there is a HUGE price for that power. Power always has a price. 🙂
